1967 Chevy Pick-up

This 1967 Chevy short bed fleet side pickup was one of five trucks special ordered in 1967 by the State of Idaho Department of Highways. It was originally painted bright yellow (as you can see from the firewall color) which was not a standard color in 1967 so the paint code is "special" it came with a fawn vinyl interior. It was powered by a 250 straight 6 engine and a 4-speed manual transmission. A local construction company purchased it at a state auction where it was put to work until the president of the company sold out and retired. He then took the truck as part of his buy-out and used it as his personal work truck. It has spent most of the last few years just sitting until now. We have it disassembled and are doing a complete restoration on it. Not for show but to continue its life in the manner for which it was originally built and has never known different. It will be a work truck again. The plan is to fix the rust holes in the floors, cab corners and rocker panels. Replace the floor supports and do all the external body work and paint it yellow again. Sandblast and paint the frame. The interior isn't decided on yet. It will be powered by a 396 Chevy big block and a 400 Turbohydromatic transmission.
